The Fyreslayers have come to Warcry with their own bespoke warband, the Vulkyn Flameseekers. I'm not a big fan of the Fyreslayer model range as a whole, but it certainly has some highlights and these new models might be the new pinnacle.
The kit comes with 4 'specialists' and 5 basic warriors, in this case being the Scalebreakers. Oddly, these Scalebreakers are on smaller bases than any other Fyreslayer in AoS so they are well-named.
The leader is the Vulkyn Runefather who can be armed with either a greataxe or a bokaz (essentially a trident/bident type shovel-spear). This guy looks great and went together easily. He has a sculpted base for him to stand on but besides his weapon option, he is very much mono-pose.
The second specialist is the Drothblood Thane. This guy puts down any unruly beasts and is adorned with trophies from his various kills. Again, great model and went together easily. The pose looks a little awkward from some angles, but looks good in person.
Next up is the Drothmaster, armed with a whip and rocking eggs on his shoulders. He went together well, but he did have some obvious seams in his robes, but nothing so bad that plastic glue did not hide it. He might be my least favourite of all the models.
Then there's the Kyndledroth itself. Not much to say about it. Went together well and only minor mould lines. It's back right leg is posed mid-step which did make me think I had done something wrong and it looked awkward enough in person that I added some basing material beneath the foot so it was no longer floating in space.
All of the above are on 32mm bases, while the Scalebreakers are all on 28mm bases.
There are 3 male models and, for the first time, two females. All of the poses for these guys look great, and those that were a bit weaker ones had strong options for their alternative. These guys can all either take a splitaxe or a bokaz. Generally I do prefer the look of the axe, but the poses of some of the bokaz were very nice comparatively.
All in all, a great kit and they they are leaps and bounds ahead of a lot of the Fyreslayer range. If you are on the fence, I heartily recommend.
