The Lady of Vines Kit Review

Despite being a relatively new model for the Sylvaneth, the Lady of Vines has actually been kicking about since the very first edition of Age of Sigmar in the Black Library novels - although she met a rather unfortunate end at the hands of a Nurglite.

I've now managed to get my hands on the kit and will be reviewing it accordingly.

As with most Sylvaneth, the model was an enjoyable build. There were a few mouldlines and the odd bit of clean up needed but the pieces are quite open and they aren't hard to access.

Getting her left foot attached was actually quite tricky. It was not super obvious what way this was meant to attach, so I honestly just let gravity do much of the work on that once I was glueing her to the base and that made it fit into position. Her skirt was another tricky it too attach, again as it wasn't super obvious how it was meant to go, but I eventually had it lock into place and I added the plastic glue to it once that clicked in.

There's some neat negative space going on in her stomach cavity which will look great once it is painted up. The contrast range of paints make painting Sylvaneth a breeze and this will work well here.

I was honestly shocked by how big the model was. The Lady of Vines is big which I was surprised to see. Even a Gossamid Archer in their flying poses don't reach her height, and her vines spread wide which will need to be a consideration when transporting the model.

The rules are similarly chunky. The Lady is quite expensive but they have crammed a fair amount of rules onto her to make her worthwhile. This makes her an interesting choice for when you don't want to go full Alarielle, but still want to get a powerful hero on the board.

All in all, the model is great. It built up quick, but some of the assembly was a bit trickier than I would have liked.
